U8, ages 5-7

Participants establish a solid foundation of alpine skiing skills on appropriate terrain and in varying conditions.  The focus for these athletes will be free skiing and skill development with structured technical gate training. Tamarack Ski Patrol gives all of our athletes an avalanche course, including classroom lectures, beacon searches and demonstrations from their avalanche dogs.

Minimum requirement: Skiing parallel on blue runs

  • Participants need alpine ski equipment including helmet
  • Skiers must have a ski pass for Tamarack Resort and a United States Ski & Snowboard Association license

U10, ages 8 – 10

Participants continue to develop a broad base of fundamentals.The focus for these athletes will be free-skiing and skill development.  Gate training will be with brushes, stubbies, and junior slalom gates. Tamarack Ski Patrol gives all of our athletes an avalanche course, including classroom lectures, beacon searches and demonstrations from their avalanche dogs.

Minimum requirement: Skiing parallel on blue runs

  • Participants need alpine ski equipment including helmet (with hard ears)
  • Skiers must have a ski pass for Tamarack and a United States Ski & Snowboard Association license

U12 Alpine Racing, ages 10-12

This program is geared towards participants who are interested in alpine racing and want to further their all mountain skiing skills. Participants will ski bumps, powder, trees, jumps, gates and steeps. They will learn equipment preparation and mountain etiquette. The program is ideal for motivated skiers who want more training and competition opportunities. Skiers may participate in the Intermountain “North Series”. Tamarack Ski Patrol gives all of our athletes an avalanche course, including classroom lectures, beacon searches and demonstrations from their avalanche dogs.

Minimum skiing requirement: Parallel skiing on blue and black runs

  • Participants need alpine ski equipment including helmet (with hard ears)
  • Skiers must have a ski pass for Tamarack and a United States Ski & Snowboard Association license

U14 Alpine Racing, ages 12 – 14

This program is for motivated skiers who love to ski race and enjoy competition. Athletes begin to spend more time in gates learning tactics. We ski the whole mountain to strengthen fundamental skiing skills, challenge the skiers balance and to have fun. Skiers participate in U.S. Ski & Snowboard Intermountain Division competitions. Tamarack Ski Patrol gives all of our athletes an avalanche course, including classroom lectures, beacon searches and demonstrations from their avalanche dogs.

Minimum skiing requirement: Comfortable skiing the entire mountain.
